Template:Use dmy dates Template:Infobox person Matt Forde is a Nottingham-born comedian,[1] impressionist, comedy writer, and radio presenter.


Forde attended Becket School in West Bridgford, Nottingham. His mother is a former nun.[2] He joined the Labour Party when he was 15 and became a member and associate of the Labour Party.[3] Following the election of Jeremy Corbyn as party leader of the Labour Party, he gave up his membership as a committed Blairite.[4]


Forde regularly broadcast with Russell Howard and Jon Richardson on their shows on BBC Radio 6 (2007–2010).[5] He writes for such shows as 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4), Stand Up for the Week (Channel 4) and Russell Howard's Good News (BBC). He has made several television appearances, including The 50 Funniest Moments of 2012, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Deal or No Deal and 8 out of 10 Cats (2013), and makes regular appearances on Sky News reviewing the papers. He also hosts his own overnight show on TalkSport.

Forde attended the Edinburgh Comedy Fringe Festival and in 2007 and 2008 hosted comedians such as Michael McIntyre, Russell Howard, Jon Richardson, Mark Oliver and Johnny Vegas. He performed his first solo stand-up show at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2011. The Edinburgh Fringe show that Forde performed throughout August 2012, Matt Forde: Eyes to the Right, Nose to the Left, was based on his love of politics from a football fan's point of view.[6] He currently hosts a show in London titled "The Political Party"; guests have included George Galloway, Tony Blair and Nigel Farage.

In September 2014 Forde co-hosted the Channel 4 documentary series Jon Richardson Grows Up with Jon Richardson.

In September 2016 he hosted the eponymous Unspun with Matt Forde, a new weekly topical political show on Dave.[7]
